We’re the premier provider of R&D tax credits in the UK and the ‘best independent consultancy firm’ (Taxation Awards 2018). We’ve doubled in size each year and we’re still growing fast. As a business development associate, you’ll contribute to our growth by identifying and helping to win new work in a fast-paced, consultative business development cycle. You’ll be joining a team with a real purpose and will be part of a team that is passionate about helping innovative businesses grow.

What will you be doing?

In this role you’ll be the first point of contact for CEOs, managing directors and finance directors from innovative UK businesses across all sectors. You will bring the value of R&D tax incentives to all sorts of clients, from innovative digital start-ups and tech retailers to established construction firms and aviation businesses. You’ll play an important role in educating them and their advisers and will communicate the benefits of ForrestBrown’s high-value service.

No two days will be the same. You’ll be responsible for identifying future clients, helping to manage them right through the business development pipeline to conversion. You will look for opportunities, assess them and follow up directly with decision-makers. You’ll actively participate in team planning sessions and work closely with our partnership managers.  Expect travel in your first couple of months to include time in Bristol and Houston too.

Ultimately you will build rewarding relationships with clients, accountants and industry associations.

What are we looking for from you?
  • 1-2 years experience in a business development or relationship management role.
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills.
  • Excellent research, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Be an ambitious team player that can collaborate to work towards team goals.
  • Be able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. 
  • Curiosity about emerging technology and passion for innovation.

This role is in a growing team and offers the opportunity for rapid professional development for the right person. Although initially you'll be supporting  the team, if you are a high performer, the sky is the limit for your future development.
